Prior to Madrona Health, Michael was a Partner at Prophecy Capital Advisors – a venture capital arm of ICBC. Before returning to VC, Michael worked as Managing Director, Head of Equity Research & Trading for the top global investment banks operating in Asia for over 2 decades. In 2009, on the tail of the financial crisis, Michael captained Merrill Lynch Hong Kong LTD from #6 to #1 in market share (by huge margins) within 1 year of joining the company. He furthered that success by taking the Goldman/Lehman/Normura merger from #14 to #5 in market share while achieving the highest profit margins amongst Nomura’s APAC divisions. Michael began his career in finance working in Venture Capital. He left VC to start Enterprise Utilities, a web-services software company that streamlined order processes for Asia’s manufacturers. He later sold the business to the President Enterprise Group – one of Asia’s largest conglomerates in 1998 at age 29. Michael is entrepreneur to the core and invests in various startups as an Angel Investor. After recognizing the unparalleled earnings potential from his investment in Oakhurst Hospice in 2012 – Michael retired from securities in 2015 and spent the next 2 years researching the senior care services industry before founding (Legendary Health, previously Madrona) in 2018. He’s traveled the world as a professional model in his late teens & early 20s for Versace, Valentino, Prada & Louis Vuitton just to name a few. Michael speaks English and Mandarin Chinese. He is published in various finance and tech magazines and is an active contributor to Zero Hedge, an intelligence blog written by analysts for analysts.
